Press-conference

Here are some post game comments from the two coaches, Igor Andryushchenko of HC “Donbass-2” and Dmitriy Yakushin of HC “Kharkivskie Akuly”.
 
The coach of HC “Donbass-2” Igor Andryushchenko:

- I like the way we played today. The players were skating hard and flying around the ice . Despite some bad plays in the periods, I am very pleased with the team's play.

- Can you distinguish the best moments of the game?
- Every 60 minutes of the game.

- Did the opponent played as expected today?
- It’s not like they surprised us today. We know how they are playing and their problems. But still they are fighting. We knew that the opponent was going to play hard against any club in the League. Our game is not an exception.

- Can you give a percentage on how the team implemented the game plan?
- About 80% was implemented. We performed good hard skating on the ice today and the result of it, the final score.

The head coach of HC “Kharkivskie Akuly” Dmitriy Yakushin:

- We have totally failed the first period and were trying to play harder in the second. But if the whole game we played in the same way as we played in gaming segment of the third period, I think the game would have been a better outcome. But I am grateful to the team that they could get together and show that they can play on such level.

- If we would analyze all games of your team with “Donbass-2” do you think it was the best game this season?
- The game with the “Donbass-2” at the start of the season was first for me in the role of the head coach of the HC “Kharkivskie Akuly”. I know that our team could play better than today. We need to work and concentrate better for every game. Do not stop fighting until the last second of the game, especially when you are playing with the team of such great players like HC “Donbass”.

- Can you comment the controversial moments of the game when the goal was not allowed?
- It’s hard to say something. I was too far from the the action and the shot that was not allowed. I thought there was a goal, but again, the final decision is under the eyes of the replay officials.

- When there is a little chance for play-off, how do you motivate (support) the team?
- They are professionals and first of all they should play hard for themselves. We have a lot of young players on our team, who will expect to go through a lot of games. First of all they should continue to play hard and show the fans that they can play. Everybody looking at them. We need to work hard and finish the season and to play every game as it was the last one. We need any points. Three items or two items any… I always say to the team that they have to play from the beginning of the game too the end of the period too, the same way,hard.

- Were there any dumb mistakes your team had in the game that could have been avoided?
- There were a lot of childish errors. Especially in the first period. They were getting all together in the same part of the ice rink, which is not allowed. I don’t want to continue to talk about this subject anymore. We will fix all the bad play we had. I can’t explain or show anything to the team for the short period of time. But we do have time to fix the the bad play. We hope that the next season the team will play much better with a full year to practice.
